500 Free Tickets to the Premiere of the film Manchester Disunited. Thursday 17th August 2006.

We have just been advised (at the last minute) by the organisers of the Premier of the new film Manchester Disunited that there will be 500 free tickets on a first come first served basis.

Location: Elements in Bournemouth
Date: Thursday 17th August 2006.
Doors open at 7:00. Film starts at 7:30.
Over 18s only.
Capacity 500 - first come first served.
There will be a drinks promotion of some description.

The film is basically about a very timely reminder of the dangers of getting into bed with the wrong type of owners, and from the write ups (see links below), it would seem that the author shares similar concerns to the fans of AFCB.

››04.08.2006 - CM Announcement of Meeting

AFC Bournemouth Community Mutual are pleased to announce that they will be holding an Open Forum on Thursday September 7th, starting at 7.30pm, in the Cherry Tree at Dean Court.

The meeting is intended to be in two parts. The first 30 minutes will be an opportunity for the current Committee to each provide an update on their contributions since being elected. The next 90 minutes will be an ‘open floor’, where fans (CM Members and non-CM Members) will be able to ask questions.

››18.07.2006 - CM STATEMENT

The Cm regrets that Stuart Walker has decided to post his resignation statement in the manner that he has chosen.

We are all aware of the financial situation at the club and the CM has spoken at length to the Main Board detailing our concerns. However it must be appreciated that the club is talking to
interested investors but these talks take time and some of the comments made are not helping in these efforts.

Yes we would all like to see the "White Knight" that would banish all our problems away with a wave of his cheque book but in the real harsh world of Football Finance these people are extremely rare and clubs have to manage on exceedingly tight budgets and the perseverance of their creditors. In the case of AFCB we have been saddled with debts and problems for many years and it is a credit to
the club that we have survived. The S and L however unpopular enabled the club to carry on but in no way has it answered all the problems.

In the present climate it requires all parties to work together to find the right solution and it is sad when a member of the CM chooses to leave and air his grievances instead of fighting for what we have been elected to stand for.

We at the CM are totally committed in our efforts to help secure the long term future of the club. We are not afraid to speak out if issues arise which we feel are not in the clubs best interests and have voiced our concerns on a number of occasions.

The club needs stability and unity especially now and it is vital that all of us work together to protect the club that we fought so hard to save not so long ago.
