›› Bristol Rovers ST Chairman's Notes
So, the drawn out saga of the clubs ownership is coming to an end. On behalf of the Supporters Trust, we would first like to put on record our thanks to the previous Board for their efforts over the last year.
Of course, things haven’t always gone smoothly, and at times the relationship between board and the Trust could have been better. However, it has been clear for a long time now that administration was absolutely our last chance to sort out the clubs terminal crisis. Jeff and Steve were brave enough to take that step.
I would also like to thank the Trust Directors, Ernie Battey and David Musker for their sterling efforts. The balance between commercial confidentiality whilst representing the Trust is not an easy one to maintain. The Trust remains proud of their work on the Board.
So, welcome to the new owners. Although we are still ‘early doors’, we are looking forward to working with the new owners, and to understand how club and Trust can work together for mutual benefit. We all want the same thing – a successful future and one where we’re not constantly looking over our shoulders.
The Trust itself must also take time out to look back at the recent past. We thought that the administration of 1997 would never happen again. We were wrong. Now, with the backing of our members we must take proactive steps to ensure that we are better prepared for any scenario.
Finally, this is our last opportunity to remind you of our forthcoming Annual General Meeting, which this year takes place at the Cherry Tree, Fitness First Stadium, Bournemouth BH7 7AF at 7:45pm on Friday 25 April 2008.
The Agenda will be as follows:
1 Chairman’s welcome and introductions
2 Apologies
3 To approve the Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on the 17th May 2007
4 To receive the Report of the Directors and the Audited Accounts for the year ended 6th December 2007.
5 To discuss any matters accepted as ordinary business of an Annual General Meeting
6. Election of members to the Supporters Trust Board.
We look forward to seeing you there.
